What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

My website is a charity website helping soldiers after they have come back from war and maybe have no-where to live, or no family, or have been injured or a friend has been injured which could cause depression, also those families that have lost a family member due to being a soldier, Save The Soldiers offers help and guidance to those families. It is a place where people can help them with all these issues. They can donate to the charity, so that we can look after them and give them a better life.

This means that all ages will be interested in our website, because they may have experienced losing someone that was a soldier, or maybe a friend has, or maybe they used to be a soldier. Most people realize that soldiers are fighting for our country, therefore we tend to honour them for their hard work. Therefore, this will be great to distribute as this could affect anyone, as most people will know someone that has been in the army, or someone that knows someone. A lot of people will want this to be distributed well so that more people become aware of the site.

Distributing your website means to let the public know about it. This can be done in many different ways, for example, the newspaper can be a very effective way of advertising a website as many people read the newspaper. Another way of doing this is by the radio, the radio can be fairly affective way of advertising as many people listen to the radio, whether it is in the car, at home or at work, people usually listen to it on their way to work. Although, this may not be the best way to distribute the media product as people might not catch the name of the website via the radio, because it is said out loud and you can’t see it visually to remember it, unless it is made in to a catchy jingle such as Go Compare, Compare The Market.com, or 118 118.

Television is another way to advertise and distribute a media product successfully, which is most likely to be the best choice to use, as almost everyone owns and watches a TV, however, you would have to put the advert in a good place such as after a highly viewed show such as Eastenders or the X-Factor, as then it will be seen by many more viewers.

There is also the method of distributing the product through Internet banners, this is an advertisement made on well-known sites so that your website can have a link to it, so that it can be seen and used. Social networking sites are normally good for this type of thing, as a lot of people of different ages will view the site daily and therefore more people will view the website more often.

All the different ways of distribution show that it will be quite simple to advertise our website as there are so many ways to do so.

Last work to finish off

Please get your blog into the right order - from today, back to last September.

You must complete your planning and preparation work, including scans of sketches, evaluation of your photography, survey work and research. This is worth 20% and you don't want to be without it.

The audience for you media product must be supported by evidence from your survey. Your evaluation must have all seven major points as specified by the exam board, and the points that deal with audience must have your survey as backup - ie the evaluation of the survey and pie charts or bar charts are essential.

You've repeated one of your postings (twice). Please change this.

The media organisation that would distribute your site is likely to be an internet service provider. They wouldn't do it for nothing, but they might discount the service because you are a charity. You must investigate internet service providers and choose one that will be appropriate.

For the section on "How does your media product represent particular social groups?" please open the Word document, select it all, copy it, and paste it into a new blog posting. You also need to remove Charlie's name from your posting.
